The Root Chakra is the foundation of our chakra system. It is related to our survival instincts, our sense of grounding, and our connection with our bodies in the physical plane. Ideally, this chakra brings us health, prosperity, security and dynamic presence.
LOCATION:
The Root Chakra also known as the Muladhara Chakra is located at the base of the spine, between the anus and the genitals. It is characterized by the emotions of survival, stability, safety, comfort, ambition, self-identity and self-sufficiency in the physical world.
SYMPTOMS OF BLOCKED/IMBALANCED ROOT CHAKRA:
When this chakra is out of balance, a person starts feeling unstable, ungrounded, lack of ambition, lack of purpose, fearful, insecure and frustrated.
SIGNS OF BALANCED ROOT CHAKRA:
However, when the Root Chakra is balanced, these are replaced by more positive emotions, and you feel stable, confident, balanced, energetic, independent, and strong.
YOGA POSES TO BALANCE THE ROOT CHAKRA:
Tree Pose (Vrukshasana) and Mountain Pose (Tadasana).
ROOT CHAKRA AFFIRMATION:
“I am safe. I am protected by the universe. I am full of life energy.”
