Sweet Struggle🎭 (Part-I)

Phone rings,

“Hello!” The guy picks up the call.

“Hai, what are you doing?” The girl asks.

“Nothing.” He replies.

“Fine then, let us go out.”

“For what?”

“To make some romance with nature. I like the weather after the rain. You know that!”

“Then what shall I do, between you and your nature? You go and enjoy.”

“Jyada bano mat! (Don’t act smart!). Just come. As a friend you need to care about my security, right?”

“Okay… I am coming.” He hangs up and moves out to meet her.

They catch up on wet roads and go for a walk along the woods. The scenery around is visible in HD quality. Leaves, flowers, soil and wind are as fresh as they have been born just now. The view of those waves dancing in the lake is rejuvenating the soul. Few areas are shining bright by those sun rays that have escaped from clouds. Birds chirping, dripping raindrops from parent trees are adding extra zeal to the scene.

She is taking the joy of the weather to the fullest. She is looking cute in her cat hooded pullover playing with the kids over there. He is simply wandering with boredom, not because of outer circumstances, but due to inner turmoil.

After a while, they both sit on a bench taking a warm breath from the cool air.

Suddenly, she gets up and starts walking away.

“Hey, are you leaving? Isn’t it too early?” He asks thinking that she is getting back to home.

“I don’t like to stay constantly at the same place for longer. Come, let us go that side.” She says and strolls around.

“Then why are you here, constantly?” He thinks punching his heart.

“What?” She asks from a distance.

“Nothing.” He says and walks behind her.

“My dear, I don’t know why, how and when I have fallen for you. But only I know how much weight I am carrying in my heart. I am hiding my feelings for you like that snail amid those fallen leaves hides in its shell with the fear of hurt.” He thinks inside.

Meanwhile, “Hey, come on. Let us have corn!” She calls him and runs towards the corn seller. The seller toasts the corn on a coal fire and serves them hot corn spiced with salt and chilli.

“You know, whenever I think of you, I feel comforting warmth in my heart as you are taking the joy of hot corn after the rain.” He thinks staring at her. They finish their snack and he pays the vendor.

“Hey, I would like to capture that golden sunlight breaking through that smoke.” She says and gets into the shoes of a photographer with her phone.

“Even though I can look straight into you just like those sunrays, to know whether you feel the same or not, you are unclear and confusing as that smoke.” He thinks.

And then, they pass through a bamboo roofed walkway decorated with floral creepers. She continues making romance with nature leaving him behind in his thoughts.

“What shall I do meri jaan? My love is growing day by day and occupying every inch of me faster than these creepers. I know where this walkway leads to, but I don’t know when you walk on the way that leads to my heart.”

He gets down beside the way collecting broken pieces of a mirror thrown out there. He gazes at her reflection in those pieces.

“What if you don’t accept my love, will I be able to collect and repair those broken pieces of my heart? –he closes his eyes tightly with that thought– God! even to think in that direction is crushing me.”

Mistakenly, he gets hurt due to the sharp edge of that broken mirror.

“Awee.” He gets up holding his bleeding finger. She turns back and rushes towards him.

“Can’t you see? Are you playing like a kid with those things on road?” She scolds him for being careless and stops the bleeding with her kerchief.

“This is enough for today, let us go back.” She commands and takes him along with her holding his wrist.

“This is the problem, Dear Sweetheart! If you don’t accept my love, I just don’t lose my love, I lose our friendship as well. I miss this love and caring permanently. If you allow me to own you, it would be a divine blessing. If you don’t, the loss would be too expensive to bear with. That fear fetters me from opening my true self to you. Keenly waiting for a sign that you too feel the same. You know, even waiting for that sign is not that easy.” He thinks on their way.

After a short convo, they part off on the same wet roads.

On his way back, he looks at her kerchief tied to his finger and the watch gifted by her to his hand and gets engrossed in her thoughts again.

“I know that I am suffering and struggling with my feelings. But it feels sweet, maybe due to the magic of love.

Waiting for that one day on which I can share my struggle with you.

Waiting for that one lovely moment on which I can take you in my arms and gaze straight into your eyes as more than a friend.

Waiting for that one special occasion on which our names will be taken together as Sanvi weds Krish.”
